Spouted Kamares cup from the East Wing of Knossos in 1903. Evans described it as an ‘amost perfect specimen’, and noted that: ‘An extraordinarily beautiful feature is the introduction into the design of bosses of deep red colour imitating the thorns of a briar rose’.
